Presentation of HydrOcean

HydrOcean was created in 2007 by Dr. Erwan JACQUIN with the support of head researchers (Prof. P. Ferrand, B. Alessandrini, Prof A. Clément, Prof. D. Le Touzé...) of the Fluid Mechanics Laboratory of Ecole Centrale Nantes (ECN).

One of the main objectives was to develop innovative software and services in the maritime field for the evaluation and optimisation of marine structures (ships, offshore units, sailing yachts, marine energy devices....), applying them to industrial projects in the shortest time period.

A few years after its creation, HydrOcean has gained the confidence of most of the shipyards, naval architects and ship owners in France and worldwide (see our main references).

In 2015 HydrOcean was acquired by the Bureau Veritas Group and is now part of their services department.

In 2018, HydrOcean became "Tecnitas-HydrOcean" further to the fusion of both HydrOcean and Tecnitas entities.
